Snow Days
Look at all of that snow. The kids were just thrilled with it and they even got the day off from school. This is great for me because I am relieved from my job of playing chauffeur. I was really able to put a dent in the Christmas knitting today.
Waiting on a Book
I am making progress on the Edwardian Jacket in the book Simply Soft by Debbie Bliss. I have the back complete and now I am working on the fronts. I had ordered some of the Astrakhan, Chunky Cashmerino and the pattern book a long time ago. Well....... the yarn came but not the book. I waited about two months or so until I finally canceled the book order and reordered it from Knit Happens. Now, I am all set!!! What good is the yarn without the pattern book?.....or being able to start a multitude of WOOL sweaters in March?
Pop-pop Turns 70!!!!
Here is a picture of what I have been working on for the past two weeks or so....a vest for my father's 70th Birthday. It is called Cozy Vest by Green Mountain Spinnery. The pattern creates a double thick fabric and it is done on circular needles so there is no finishing involved. There are also gussets on the sides so that you have shaping alternatives for various body types. The yarn is extremely soft due to the fact that there is mohair in it. I knit the vest on size 7 circulars and only used about 8 hanks of Mountain Mohair.
